Day 3 at the WTA event in Rouen will certainly provide a lot of tight matches and exciting tennis. While the tournament doesn’t feature any of the top players in the world, it has a very balanced field where many people could realistically aim for the trophy and will give it their all to achieve it, as well as plenty of home players and clay court specialists.
WTA Rouen Day 3 Predictions
Fiona Ferro vs Jessika Ponchet
Head-to-head: Ferro 2-1 Ponchet
By ranking, this might not look like a very enticing matchup, with #146 taking on #376, but it will likely be far more interesting than one would think. Despite being ranked much lower, Ferro leads to head-to-head and the fact that this is an all-French affair in France will certainly add a lot of spice to this match, which should be very close and decided by who executes better in key junctures.
Prediction: Ferro in 3
Elina Svitolina vs Jil Teichmann
Head-to-head: Svitolina 2-2 Teichmann
Svitolina is the #1 seed of this tournament and arguably the favorite to win the title, but she has quite a tricky match to get through here. The 2-2 head-to-head shows that Teichmann has the ability to cause problems to Svitolina. The Ukranian won this matchup in relatively easy fashion a few days ago at the Billie Jean King Cup, but it should be a far more competitive affair even if Svitolina remains the favorite.
Prediction: Svitolina in 2
Bianca Andreescu vs Suzan Lamens
Head-to-head: first meeting
Andreescu is a former Slam winner, but those days are far behind her and she is actually making her 2025 debut here. Lamens hasn’t been having a great season thus far, but all things considered she has an excellent chance to get a win over a big name here as Andreescu is unlikely to be anywhere near her best at this point.
Prediction: Lamens in 3
